Computational approaches addressing large multiomic datasets and the structure of proteins and small molecules are transforming the practice of cancer biology. The Department of Cancer and Cellular Biology (DCCB) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University invites applications from qualified candidates for tenure-track faculty positions focused on bioinformatics, computational biology, machine learning, Ai, and/or related fields, from applicants committed to translational research applicable to the field of cancer.
The DCCB, located at the Health Science Campus of Temple University, is a hub of cancer research at LKSOM. The DCCB provides a competitive start-up package, and supportive environment in which faculty are well-positioned to develop an innovative, interdisciplinary research program aimed to improve precision medicine. Hires to this position would be expected to develop an innovative, independent research program. Successful candidates would have access to state-of-the-art core facilities, and benefit from the opportunity to work closely with laboratory and clinical researchers across the larger Temple system. These include experts in genomics at the Temple Institute for Genomics and Evolutionary Medicine (IGEM), and experts in structural modeling and other disciplines at the allied Fox Chase Cancer Center-Temple Health. DCCB members typically receive secondary appointments at Fox Chase, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, allowing them to benefit from access to additional research core facilities.
