Summary of Position

The Department of Medicine, Section of General Internal Medicine at Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine is seeking qualified Internal Medicine trained applicants for a full time General Internal Medicine (GIM) faculty position.

  • Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to our patients in outpatient primary care settings, while teaching the fundamentals of general internal medicine to the healthcare providers of the future.
  • 17 full-time faculty members whose interests include medical education, obesity, hypertension, HIV and Hepatitis C, integrative medicine, social determinants of health, trauma-informed care, medication-assisted therapies, palliative care and geriatrics.
  • Supportive environment with faculty involved in numerous innovative educational and research programs in areas such as clinical skills training, physician-patient communications, ambulatory medical education and clinical trials.
  • Highlights include: providing outpatient HIV primary care, ambulatory addiction medicine, inpatient addiction medicine consults, along with the precepting of internal medicine residents.

Candidate Qualifications

  • D., D.O. or Foreign Equivalent
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Internal Medicine
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Addiction Medicine preferred
  • Unrestricted medical license and DEA in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or the ability to obtain it prior to start date
  • Credentials for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or above
  • Committed to supporting and promulgating diversity, equity and inclusion among faculty, staff, students and patients
  • Linguistic competence in Spanish preferred but not required
