The Center for Biostatistics and Epidemiology (CBE) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University seeks to recruit a Biostatistics faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The new faculty member will have a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty appointment in LKSOM within the Department of Biomedical Education and Data Sciences.
The CBE provides critical support for clinical, translational, and basic science research at LKSOM. Our mission is to enhance research at LKSOM and provide high-quality research education to the Temple University (TU) and Temple University Health System (TUHS) communities. The CBE currently has three primary faculty members, four full-time statistical analysts, and two health informatics analysts on staff, and continues to grow. The new faculty member will be responsible for:
• Providing statistical consultation and collaboration with LKSOM investigators on the design, conduct, analysis, and publication of clinical, biological, translational, and epidemiological research studies
• Performing statistical analyses and assisting with interpretation and presentation of results
• Preparing statistical sections of grant applications, manuscripts, and study protocols
• Participating with institutional research review committees such as IRB and IACUC to review the methodology of studies involving human subjects or animals
• Educating LKSOM and TUHS trainees in the context of research projects as well as group settings, including workshops, seminars, conferences, and formal didactics
• Contributing to the development of new analytical methods and applying standard methods in novel ways

Candidate Qualifications:
• Terminal doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in biostatistics, statistics, or related fields.
• Training and experience using SAS, R, SPSS, and Stata statistical software.
• Experience working with diverse types of biomedical data.
• Experience working with EHR data is strongly preferred.
• Experience with clinical trial designs and related data analyses is strongly preferred.
• Experience with genetics and/or -omics data analyses preferred.
• Experience using machine learning approaches and/or AI to data analysis preferred.
• An excellent team player and effective communication skills.
