Summary of Position

The Department of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine is actively recruiting an additional fellowship trained cardiologist who possesses clinical expertise in heart failure and transplantation. Qualified applicants will have a proven record of research, teaching, and clinical distinction. Temple’s Heart and Vascular Institute (THVI) has a long history of clinical excellence, particularly in heart failure management, bi-ventricular mechanical support and cardiac transplantation. It offers a uniquely supportive practice environment with an emphasis on quality patient care, research, teaching, individual career development, and collegiality among faculty members.

 

Temple is a pioneering heart transplant program with over 1000 transplants performed. Temple offers a collegial working relationship with a dedicated team of Heart Failure, Transplant, VAD/PH cardiologists and surgeons. The Heart Failure program includes a subsection in infiltrative cardiomyopathies, CardioOncology, Heart Failure with preserved EF, Disease management and CardioMEM. The program also has a dedicated support team of HF, Transplant and MCS nurses and coordinators. Our faculty members have broad research interest in outcomes, basic sciences, and clinical trials.

 

The new faculty member will provide inpatient and outpatient clinical Heart Failure services, including congestive heart failure transplant and mechanical circulatory support. Successful candidates must possess and MD or DO, will be BC in cardiology and board certified or board eligible in Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant. Candidates must have academic credentials that will qualify for a faculty appointment at the minimum level of Assistant Professor and be in possession of or be eligible to receive an unrestricted Pennsylvania State Medical License. Graduating fellows and practicing physicians are both encouraged to apply. This is an immediate need, and preference will be given to experienced practicing physicians.
