Summary of Position

Located in the heart of a diverse urban area, the Katz School of Medicine is acutely aware of the impact of the national systemic problems related to the lack of health equity and access to affordable, culturally responsive healthcare. In response, Katz works to address issues that promote health equity through education, care delivery, workforce development, and research. The Opportunity
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys educating and mentoring residents and medical students, and strives to make a meaningful impact in their community. General adult inpatient psychiatry applications are welcome, but applicants with subspecialty interest and experience will be supported in creating a subspecialized inpatient service. Examples include geriatric psychiatry, med-psych, or dual substance use/mental health.

  • Provide psychiatric diagnoses, assessments, laboratory workups and treatments
  • Work with a team that has been recognized repeatedly with the Press Ganey Compass Award for extraordinary success in patient satisfaction, as well as the Studer Fire Starter Award for excellence.
  • Experience professional collaboration as part of a team of eight inpatient psychiatrists
  • Lucrative moonlighting opportunities

Candidate Qualifications

  • M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent
  • Successful completion of residency in Psychiatry from an ACGME-accredited program prior to the start date
  • Board eligibility or certification in Psychiatry
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted medical license & DEA from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to employment
